Greinke’s scoreless run was the fourth-longest in MLB history, and he was only four outs away from matching Bob Gibson’s mark of 47 scoreless innings from his magical 1968 season.

The last run allowed by Greinke prior to Sunday came on a solo home run by San Diego’s Justin Upton in the eighth inning of a 2-1 Padres win over the Dodgers on June 13.
