Skyrim is in the northern section of the continent of Tamriel. The player controls the main protagonist, the Dragonborn, who is tasked with saving the world from the deadly dragon Alduin, known as the World Eater. Along this epic journey, players have the chance to visit many unique locations, such as the cavern Blackreach, along with seeing other stunning landmarks. While typically gamers have been required to play the title in order to explore its vast open-world setting, that looks to have changed. There is now a way for fans that cannot get enough of the game to experience Skyrim without playing Skyrim.

Recently, a YouTuber known as adventure_pippin started a channel for fans of Skyrim. However, the content uploaded by the creator is a bit different. According to the YouTube channel, it was dedicated to recording “cozy” hikes through the wilderness settings of the game. While adventure_pippen only started uploading videos over the last week, they already had accumulated quite a collection of virtual hikes for players to embark on. Some episodes include journeys through Forgotten Vale, Lake Ilinata, Blackreach, and Falkreath Hold.
In each episode of these walks through the wilderness of Skyrim, the video shows a player moving slowly through the world. They occasionally pause, giving viewers time to take in the marvelous sights seen throughout Skyrim. In addition to the visuals, these virtual hikes include audio. As a result, players can hear the peaceful nature ambiance of each location accompanied by the ambient tracks composed by Jeremy Soule.
It is interesting to see fans like adventure_pippen give gamers alternative ways to enjoy their favorite games. With so many breathtaking locations throughout Skyrim, it seems like it is only a matter of time before adventure_pippen uploads more videos like this to their channel. It will be interesting to see where the YouTuber decides to take viewers on their next virtual hike.
