Officers were called to the Utopia nightclub, in Youngstown, at about 1.30 a.m. this morning following reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived they told WFMJ-TV that between 300 to 500 people were waiting outside the nightclub, located on East Midlothian Boulevard.

They told the outlet one man had been killed and that another man and a woman had been taken to a nearby hospital with gunshot wounds.

It is unclear where they were shot and whether their injuries are critical.

Police did not confirm what happened in the lead-up to the deadly shooting and did not comment on the motivation behind it.

They also did not comment on whether any arrests had been made.

Photos taken outside the nightclub showed a number of police vehicles stationed nearby and a cordon taped off the area immediately outside the venue.

No officers opened fire following the shooting.

Newsweek has approached the Youngstown Police Department for comment.
