“Hey Siri, What’s Oprah Reading?”

All you need to do is summon Siri and ask something along the lines of “What’s Oprah reading?” to receive a relevant information snippet from the digital assistant. But instead of Siri reading the results out loud, you actually hear Oprah herself telling you about the book.

This feature will go live for all users tomorrow, but we were able to test it ahead of launch. Here’s what we got when we asked Siri about Oprah’s reading habits:

The results page includes a preview of the book from Apple’s Books Store, according to the official announcement in the OprahMag. The new feature is part of a much broader, multi-year content partnership between Apple and the famous talk show host and TV producer.

As an example, the partnership includes “Oprah’s Book Club” which provides a follow-along reading experience available in the Apple Books, Apple Podcasts, and Apple TV+ apps.

Gilead Novels Coming to Oprah’s Book Club

The linked article mentions that the four Gilead novels from author Marilynne Robinson will be featured by the Oprah Book Club as its 87th, 88th, 89th, and 90th selections. These novels include 2004’s Gilead, 2008’s Home, 2014’s Lila, and 2020’s Jack.

Like with previous book recommendations from Oprah, the novels will be promoted with a reading schedule on the Oprah’s Book Club social platforms along with interviews with the author hitting the Apple TV+ streaming service on yet-to-be-determined dates.
