Thanks to the level-creation mode featured in Halo 5: Guardians, aptly referred to as Forge, one gamer has designed and implemented an entire battleground dedicated to Pokemon. Mascots from the beloved JRPG franchise can be seen littered about the landscape en masse. Monsters like Gyrados, Pikachu, Dugtrio, Magikarp, Caterpie, and Snorlax have all been fit into the layout of the stage, but they aren’t even the highlight of this rather expertly-crafted map.
As the main appeal of Halo 5’s user-created battleground, player-controller Spartans are able to battle one another utilizing a rock, paper, scissors layout through actual Pocket Monsters. The beasts chosen for this epic clash? Why, none other than the fully-evolved Pokemon Red and Blue starters Charizard, Blastoise, and Venasaur. As showcased by YouTuber ZannyVids, the multiplayer level has clearly had a lot of effort poured into it, and the end result is nothing short of ingenious. Of course, fans have been making full use of Forge’s tools since the feature arrived late last year, and some of the creations that have followed have been quite impressive.
Everything from Super Mario 64’s Peach’s Castle to the high-speed thrill of Podracing from Star Wars have been recreated within the game, which showcase just how malleable the assets within Halo 5 truly are. Given the fact that fans are still creating new and exciting things within the title, there’s no doubt that gamers will have much more user-generated content to look forward to in the future. With that said, stay tuned to Game Rant for more details on some of the more brilliant creations that surface from within Halo 5’s Forge mode.
Halo 5: Guardians is currently available exclusively on Xbox One.
