With support for the title at an all-time high, Playtonic Games has opted to reveal a new character that will be making his debut alongside Yooka the chameleon and Laylee the bat. Ladies and gentlemen, prepare yourselves for Trowzer the snake.

Revealed on the game’s official KickStarter page, the humor of this newcomer is immediately apparent. Besides being a snake hilariously named Trowzer, this Adder takes himself as a rather serious overseer of business dealings and he’s got the pants to prove it. Lugging around a massive, old school cell phone, Yooka-Laylee creative lead Gavin Price doesn’t make it sound like the character has had an easy go of things.

It sounds as if this character will be taking on a similar role to Banjo-Kazooie’s Bottles the mole by teaching players new moves – albeit in exchange for in-game currency. Still, the newly released concept art for the character is very Rare-esque in its design and is sure to strike the rose-tinted nerves that inspired so many consumers to back the project in the first place.

As of this writing, Yooka-Laylee has amassed over £1,500,000 ($2,334,960 USD), which has helped it smash yet another stretch goal. That goal in particular was to have a full orchestral score added to the game, which is something that should make the title all the more enjoyable during rigorous play sessions. Now the next tier of rewards has been set in the form of free post-launch DLC to all backers – provided gamers can push the KickStarter initiative over £2,000,000 ($3,113,900 USD) in the next 35 days.
