RELATED: Genshin Impact: Best Team Compositions To Pair With Yoimiya

It seems the powers that be look favorably upon Yoimiya’s fireworks, as she has been granted a Pyro Vision. She now uses it, along with a bow, to create dazzling pyrotechnic displays in battle. She can maximize her Pyro abilities and combat skill by leveling up her talents and ascending. Here’s everything she’ll need for those upgrades.

Leveling Materials

Every character requires over 8 million EXP to reach the maximum level, which is level 90. Here’s how much is needed between each ascension:

Any extra EXP gained when an ascension level is reached will be lost, so here’s an efficient combination with little waste:

Yoimiya Ascension Items

When it comes to leveling up Yoimiya, materials needed for her ascension include Agnidus Agate and everything else listed here:

Gemstones - Where to Find Agnidus Agate

Yoimiya is a Pyro character, meaning she needs Agnidus Agate to ascend. It can be found in a few ways: from souvenir shops in Liyue and Mondstadt, from the Parametric Transformer, by completing daily commissions, and, primarily, from defeating bosses. These bosses can drop Agnidus Agate:

Andrius Azhdaha* La Signora Pyro Regisvine Pyro Hypostasis Primo Geovishap*

Enemy Drop - Where to Find Samachurl Scrolls

Samachurls are mages, and they use special Scrolls for their magic, it seems. Regardless of how they’re used by Samachurls, these Scrolls are dropped when they’re defeated, and they’re an ascension material for some characters.

Yoimiya is one of these characters, needing quite a few Samachurl Scrolls to ascend. Different level Samachurls will drop different Scrolls:

Any level: Divining Scroll Level 40+: Sealed Scroll Level 60+: Forbidden Curse Scroll

Samachurls are found basically everywhere, so they shouldn’t be too much trouble to locate and defeat. Remember that enemies can be tracked with the Adventurer’s Handbook.

Boss Drop - How to Get Smoldering Pearl

Smoldering Pearls are a special boss item used by Yoimiya for her ascension. They can be obtained by defeating the Pyro Hypostasis and paying 40 Original Resin to claim the rewards.

This Pyro boss can be found on Kannazuka in Inazuma. It’s immune to Pyro damage, so using Yoimiya against it won’t be the best idea.

Local Specialty - Where to Find Naku Weed

These small purple weeds aren’t too difficult to find. They grow around Inazuma, especially on Seirai Island, near the Mikage Furnace, and near Mt. Yougou — basically anywhere with high levels of Electro.

Anyone having trouble finding them in the wild can turn to two other sources: they can be grown in the Serenitea Pot, and they can be purchased from Aoi in Inazuma City. She sells five of them for 1,000 Mora each, and restocks every three days.

Yoimiya Talent Materials

Yoimiya has three talents that can be upgraded, like every Genshin Impact character. Here’s what’s needed:

Talent Books - Transience

The books Yoimiya uses are those in the Transience series. Any talent book can be found during some events, by using the Parametric Transfomer, and, rarely, through some other sources. However, these books are mainly obtained by clearing domains.

The Transience series, specifically, can be found by clearing the Violet Court domain on Mondays, Thursdays, or Sundays.

Trounce Material - Dragon Lord’s Crown

Every character uses a material from a weekly trounce challenge, and Yoimiya is no different. Yoimiya materials are not all found in Inazuma, though. Head out of Inazuma and to Liyue. Yoimiya’s weekly trounce material is the Dragon Lord’s Crown, which is dropped by Azhdaha in the Beneath the Dragon-Queller challenge.

Where to Get a Crown of Insight

Crowns of Insight are needed for maxing talents, meaning a character will need three of them if the player wants to upgrade all three talents. These rare materials are earned during special events, and a handful of them can be obtained by making offerings to the Frostbearing Tree and Sacred Sakura.

Genshin Impact is available on PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices, with a Nintendo Switch version in development.
